La Piel de la Pintura

La Piel de la Pintura (2025) is a pictorial investigation into gesture, matter, and colour as explored through the passing of the seasons.

This exhibition, shown at Arma Gallery in Madrid, invites an immersion into painting as a living process, departing from an experimental premise: to paint during the seasons and from within them. In it, Jorge Nava builds a body of work in which instinctive gesture, the energy of colour, and the physicality of the support become the central protagonists.

In La piel de la pintura, painting does not illustrate an idea, it embodies one. It becomes the record of a lived time and the reflection of a deeply personal stylistic search. The murals and canvases brought together here, rooted in Expressionism, oscillate between lyrical abstraction and a kind of interior landscaping, where the emotional, the atmospheric, and the symbolic interweave.

The exhibition is structured around two natural forces that emerge as the poetic axes of the creative process: water and sun.
